LOGLINE
Three individuals cross paths over three minutes, sometimes in more obvious ways than others. Three Men (2024) is a short comedy that takes place in one vehicle and was filmed in one take, utilizing the natural environment to create chaotic circumstances.
SKILLS LEARNED
Filmed on-location in the busy downtown streets of Fairbanks. This meant we had to embrace the public settings and challenges which came with it. Patience played a huge factor in getting the right take.
Coordinated blocking for the car, and actors to intertwine based off dialogue through efficient planning and rehearsals. We had every action timed using walkie-talkies in and outside the vehicle.
Utilized improvisational dialogue through planned themes and conflicts for each character.
FILMING ROUTE
Pre-production involved finding and planning around a singular city block to map out routes each character would take. The film relies on improvisational dialogue after defining the broad context of the situation and characters.
